ASSOCHAM organized its National Seminar on Indian Accounting Standards (Ind – AS) on 15th May 2015 at New Delhi. The conference started with Inaugural session and lighting the lamp, followed by Opening Remarks.The theme address was given by Ms. Preeti Malhotra, Chairperson, ASSOCHAM National Council for Corporate Affairs &CSR and ED & Group President, Spice Group. After that Dr. Ashok Haldia, Senior Member, ASSOCHAM& Member, NACAS and Whole Time Director, PTC India Financial Services Ltd. gave his address onthe current growing importance and development of new Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS). CA. S B Zaware, Central Council Member and Chairman of Ind AS Implementation Committee, ICAI explained about the scope & impact of Indian Accounting Standards India. Mr. Sai Venkateshwaran, Partner and India Head, Accounting Advisory Services, KPMG in India gave his presentation on new Indian Accountings standards and spoke about implementation of Indian Accounting Standards,and KPMG Knowledge Report was released. The Inaugural session was over with the vote of thanks by Shri G. P. Madaan Co-Chairman, ASSOCHAM National Council for M & A and Founder & CEO, Corporate Knowledge Foundation.
During the seminar, some important topics and recent developments in Indian Accounting Standards like: Embracing global standards – the way forward and impact on Corporate India, roadmap and Implementation challenges on Indian Accounting Standards, Key differences between Ind-AS and Existing AS, Fair Value Measurement etc were brought up. Participants raised their queries at the end of the seminar during Q/A round.
